Welcome to Lazy Creek Acres!

Welcome to our small hobby farm which is located in Medford, Wisconsin. On our little hobby farm we raise twenty Fainting goats, sixteen Olde English "Babydoll" Sheep, six Miniature donkeys, two horses, five barn cats, four dogs, a Nubian wether that thinks he's a pygmy and two wonderful children.  We didn't start out with all of these critters, it all began with a pygmy goat named "Griffin" and a very wonderful horse named "Unbreakable Victory"(Vic for short).  They were my daughters 4H projects.  We also started out with "Bear" our cocker/beagle mix dog. Griffin, Vic and Bear have since passed away but they are never forgotten.

"Bear" My husband was doing a remodel job for some people and she was the last of two puppies that they couldn't find a home for and they were going to shoot her.  We brought her home, she was six months old when she came home with us and she passed away at 21 yrs old in 2006.  She was my constant companion.  I miss her terribly and she can never be replaced.  Bear is 19 yrs old in this picture.

Our helpers on the farm:

"Dutch" our Australian Shepherd.  Dutch was a drop off.  He came to live with us in 2007 he was found starving in a culvert and we brought him home.  He was 3 months old.

"Sonny" our miniature dachshund and "Gabby" our Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  Their job is to keep the barn cats in line.  But in this picture I guess their job today is to relax in the sun!

"Lexie" our daughter Katie's Saint Bernard.

FAINTING GOATS

This is our first year raising Registered (Myotonic)Fainting goats.  We have had wethers before in our petting zoo and have fallen in love with the breed.  We had our first kids in the spring 2008.  Our breeding program consists of goats displaying a wide variety of colors from black and white, browns and tri-color to just about any color in between.  We also have polled and blue eyes.  We strive to have a disease free herd.  I have purchased from breeders that test for CL,CAE and Johnes.  I will be testing all of my herd again within the next few months and will then have a closed herd.  If any new goats are brought in they will be tested prior to coming to our farm or when they arrive before being introduced to our herd.  All of our goats are up to date on vaccinations, worming and hoof trimming.

Fainting goats are a wonderful breed!  Please browse our website and check out all the wonderful animals we have.  "Maddie" feeding her quads.

OLDE ENGLISH "BABYDOLL" SOUTHDOWN SHEEP

We have been raising Registered Babydoll sheep since 2004.  We have black, white and spotted.  We have fourteen ewes and 2 rams.  We have lambs available in the spring of the year.  We take reservations any time of year.  They do go fast so make your reservation early.  All of our sheep are registered with Robert Mock and some that I have purchased are double registered  with the North American registry.   They are all up to date on vaccinations, worming and hoof care.   These wonderful woolly gentle sheep with a teddy bear face and signature "smiles" are perfect for small farms or 4H projects.

The Babydoll sheep are very adorable.  This is "Maggie".  Please check out our Babydoll page to see more adorable pictures!

MINIATURE DONKEYS

We started out with "Dusty" our gelding.  I had always wanted a mini donkey.  As soon as I saw him I was hooked.  He has since found a new home and now we have four Jennys and  a very small spotted jack, he is 31".   We have one dark brown jenny, one black jenny and two gray jennys.  We are in the process of searching for a spotted jenny.  All of our jennys are registered.

I had to post this one, my sister sent me this of her new little jenny "Bella"

Our Daughter Katie's horses:

Katie goes to college in River Falls so her horses stay here with us until she finishes school and gets a place of her own.

"Estrella"  which means star is a registered Azteca.

"Angel"  is a registered Tennessee Walker.
